TSA’s Building Blocks: Partnership with QZ Catalyst
The Scaling-Up Accelerators (TSA), in collaboration with QZ Catalyst, is driving the Accelerating Access to Post-Pregnancy Family Planning (PPFP) initiative in Pakistan. This impactful partnership, running from August 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025, focuses on improving access to essential family planning services, empowering communities, and enhancing maternal and child health outcomes nationwide.

Key Objectives of the Partnership
- Expanding Access to PPFP Services:
- Scaling up post-pregnancy family planning interventions to improve maternal health and reduce unmet needs across Pakistan.
- Capacity Building and Training:
- Conducting training sessions for healthcare providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and community engagement.
- Data-Driven Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Integrating advanced tools to enhance tracking and evaluation of PPFP service delivery outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborating with national and provincial stakeholders to align PPFP initiatives with broader health and development goals.
Strategic Initiatives and Workshops
Focal Points Workshop (September 18-19, 2024, Islamabad):
Organized in partnership with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination (MoNHSR&C), Pathfinder International, and QZ Catalyst, this workshop brought together provincial health departments, WHO, UNFPA, Greenstar, Ipas, and Jhpiego.
Strategic Initiatives and Workshops
- Development of Provincial Action Plans for PPFP/PAFP.
- Strengthening of Quality Assurance (QA) frameworks and supportive supervision models.
- Integration of PPFP/PAFP indicators into DHIS-2 for improved data tracking.
- Advocacy for district-level QA focal persons to oversee implementation.
Quality Assurance and Sustainability
The partnership emphasizes:
- Quality Care: Addressing provider biases and ensuring patient-centered care.
- Data-Driven Improvements: Leveraging analytics for continuous service improvement.
